New biography on prominent Dutch archaeologist

Professor Tjalk Waterbolk (1924) is considered one of the most influential archaeologists from the Netherlands, especially related to the Northern part of the Netherlands. Prof dr. Jan Kolen (Centre for Global Heritage and Development, Leiden University) and Prof. dr. Jos Bazelmans (RCE, Free University) had several interviews with Prof. Waterbolk and have written a biography (in Dutch) on him:  'Werk van Eeuwen, gesprekken met Tjalling' (Work of centuries, conversations with Tjalling)'.

The biography demonstrates Waterbolks influence on the development of scientific dating techniques for archaeology and the new insight Waterbolk brought for study on the dispersal of agriculture. Special focus is on his youth in the countryside of Drenthe and consequently his studies at the University of Groningen. Many pictures complete the work.
