In November 2014 Mara de Groot (Centre for Global Heritage and Development) and Marco Roling (the Corts Foundation) visited Rio de Janeiro, Holambra and Castrolanda in the framework of the TULIPANA programme. The TULIPANA programme is directed at safeguarding the heritage of the Dutch migrants in Brazil and tries to raise academic and general interest for the topic of Dutch group settlement in Brazil. The visit included a workshop for the Dutch association in Rio de Janeiro, getting to see the heritage collections and meeting the people who share an interest in these collections. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed with both Centro Cultural de Castrolanda and Museu Holambra to express the intention to join forces.
