From the 15th of Feburary onwards dr. Rients de Boer will join the Centre of Global Heritage and Development as its new Education Officer. In this role dr. De Boer will dedicate himself to the promotion, coordination and creation of different kinds of education activities. To this end he will cooperate closely with both the Centre's affiliated researchers, as well as with the larger Leiden-Delft-Erasmus network.
Rients de Boer (1981) holds a degree in Accountancy and Controlling from the University of Groningen (2003) and subsequently studied Ancient Near Eastern cultures in Leiden and the Sorbonne in Paris. After obtaining his Ph.D. in Assyriology in Leiden (2014), he worked at the Free University of Amsterdam teaching Ancient History. He has a keen interest in Iraq’s history and the challenges concerning its heritage.
