Coming up on Friday 3 June: Symposium 'Holambra', celebrating the launch of the Dutch version of the book 'Holambra. The difficult starting years of a piece of Netherlands in Brazil', by dr. Mari Smits. Holambra is a Brazilian community with a Dutch background, a place that unites the histories of both countries.
The publication, part of the TULIPANA program, is based on new archival sources that have come available through the Shared Heritage program from the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science.
The symposium is organized by The Centre for Global Heritage and Development, in cooperation with Huygens ING.
