Matilda is a Master's student at Leiden University, currently specializing in East Asian heritage and material culture. Her interest is mainly directed toward the plurality of notions of heritage that span through Asian and European contexts, sustainability and digitality. Matilda's current object of study is the intersection between art and heritage. She is writing her Master's thesis on Eco-art in Japan, specifically investigating how contemporary and socially engaged art forms can be used in new innovative ways in order to develop projects aimed at the preservation of cultural and natural heritage.
