Meet & debate with your favorite heritage professor!
The LDE Centre for Global Heritage and Development and the VU Amsterdam research institute CLUE+ organize the so called Re-Scape colloquia. These colloquia aim to bring together senior and junior scholars and professionals to establish common languages, theories, methodologies and practices in the field of heritage and to create the foundation for novel research approaches in this field.
You now have the opportunity to put your research at the center and have your very own Re-Scape colloquium with a professor of your own choice! Who has been your source of inspiration for defining your research theme? Which professor gave you new and important insight? Which author is on your bedtable?
If your proposal is selected, you will have the chance to invite him/her for a lecture, present your own work and let the audience reflect on it. Afterwards, you will have the opportunity to go deeper into the matter during a meal with the professor, all on our expenses.
Who can compete?
PhD students from Leiden University, Delft University of Technology, Erasmus University Rotterdam and VU Amsterdam.
What do we offer?
We offer, with a maximum of 1500 euro:
- an economy return flight for the guest speaker
- accommodation for 2 nights (European guest) or 3 nights (Non-European guest)
- a dinner for the prof and you
- other necessary expenses like train fare, taxi etc.
We will organize a suitable location and drinks for the event and will use our communication services to attract an audience.
What do you need to do?
Send us a one page proposal for the colloquium, including who you propose as a speaker, why and what the program of the colloquium should be. Should there be other speakers as well? Is it interactive? What about an excursion or walking session? When and where do you want to have the colloquium organized (Delft, Leiden, Rotterdam of Amsterdam). What do you foresee as outcome? And finally, what is the budget you estimate (max. 1500 euro).
